Month of Mass Effect, Day 17: This Is Ridiculous

Today’s Mass Effect series question: What is your least favorite mission/loyalty quest/side quest?

I enjoy 99% of the missions in the Mass Effect series so it’s hard to pick a least favourite. Hm… Actually, it’s not. Got it!

This may be because I’m in the middle of an Insanity level Mass Effect 2 playthrough for my crazed PlayStation Platinum Trophy quest at the moment (must… obtain… shiny… trophy…) but I’m picking the side mission called N7: Eclipse Smuggling Depot.

Gr!! This mission absolutely sucks on Insanity difficulty (hell, even my easy playthrough Shepard died once or twice doing it). Basically, you have to take out a whole group of YMIR Mechs before they can destroy 20 crates. It’s a bit of a painful process taking out a single YMIR Mech on Insanity difficulty (they have shields, armor, AND health). Now I have to take out a bunch of them while on a time limit?? No freaking thank you. It takes a lot for me to give up on a side quest, but this one is just NOT happening on my Insanity run, eh. I’m trying to be kinder to myself these days.
