In post-Soviet parody town of Krusz, pointer clicks you. Sorry. I don’t know what that was. And, huh… I can’t say that I’ve played many point-and-click adventure games in my gaming career. Counting this one, I remember one other one I’ve yet to review… yeah. Two is not a lot. It’s not like I hate the genre or anything, it just falls under my gamer radar (along with FPS and RTS games). I’m all about the action RPGs lately, but it’s nice to break out of your preferred video game genre every once in a while. This game was just the sarcastic shot of dark humour I needed!

Paradigm and Cat
Apparently, one of my cats likes chasing the pointers in point-and-click games… too cute to be mad at!

Dragon Age Inquisition Review 1

Platform Played On: PC
Developer: BioWare
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Genre: Action RPG
Release Date: November 18, 2014

This is the re-posting of the Dragon Age Inquisition Review I wrote on my old website. This article was originally posted on April 4, 2018. Enjoy past me’s unedited ramblings!

When I stop and think about it, I’ve been focused on playing the Dragon Age series since June 2017. Wow… Now I can proudly say I’ve beaten all 3 of these glorious games! Each one offers a totally different gameplay experience. Inquisition is big the ol’ open world one with about a million side activities that distracted me from the main plot. When I started this game, I had come right off of beating Dragon Age II (the “too linear” one) for the fourth time so the transition was pretty jarring, to say the least. To be honest, I felt overwhelmed, but once I settled into the controls (and finally left the Hinterlands), I fell in love with this version of Thedas.

Dragon Age Origins Review 1

Release Date: November 3, 2009

This is the re-posting of the Dragon Age Origins Review I wrote on my old website. This article was originally posted on December 29, 2017. Enjoy past me’s unedited ramblings!

O Dragon Age Origins, why have I waited so long to play thee? I picked up the Ultimate Edition of this glorious RPG early this year. An edition that includes all the DLC plus the Awakening expansion for just $7 CDN?! Yass, please!! I got around to actually playing it in July, and then finally finishing it in November. My only previous BioWare experience had been with Dragon Age II, a game I enjoyed a lot. So why did it take me so long to play the original? I guess I just got distracted by the mountain of other games I want to play, and this series sort of fell off my radar. Then the wise Athena over at AmbiGaming appeared, as if sent by the elven Creators themselves. By constantly reminding me just how awesome this game series is, I guess she wore me down. I’m making my BioWare backlog a priority now, so a huge THANK YOU to my good friend Athena!

Ori and the Blind Forest Review 1

Platform Played On: PC
Developer: Moon Studios
Publisher: Microsoft Studios
Genre: Platform-adventure
Release Date: March 11, 2015

Yep. These popular Metroidvania style platformers are not my forte, but I do enjoy the special ones on occasion. This one came very highly recommended by the great Mr. Moron so I thought it was mostly safe to assume I’d really enjoy it (okay… trusting his opinion was a huge risk, I know). He was totally right, though! I was not emotionally prepared for the awesomeness of this masterpiece game…
